#1
Doing my first oil change at 90 miles, I've bought the Polaris Oil Filter and 2 quarts of Pure Polaris Synthetic All Season 4 cycle engine oil. Is this all I need in order to do the change? No other parts? Or am I missing something?
Any info appreciated, i'm going to do the change tommarow it will be 40+ here

The owner's manual mentions changing the screen on the interior side of the oil tank. I've been keeping up with this board and can't find very many people that have actually done that. I didn't when I changed my oil the first time. Book says you need to do it but doesn't tell you HOW!

In your owners manual (pg.82 to pg 87) tells you about the oil, Transmission and the front gear case change, I didn't do the screen.
mobile one 0-40 and a Purolator PL14612 oil filter (Not the P,,, the PL) and 90wt Synthetic for the transmission. There cheaper, I stuck with the polaris oil for the front gear box.

I had a 500, I cleaned the screen out one time and said I would not do it again. In my opinion it was to hard to get out to be able to clean and also the possibilty of causing damage to the rubber oil hose is not worth it. There is a magnet on the drain plug that should pick up large particles. I do drain the oil out of the motor also not just the oil in the tank. There is about a half of a coke can that is left in the motor. I change oil this way in my ranger 500 also with no problems.

One of my buddies mentioned a 'ring' I might need? or maybe a washer ? Anyone know of anything about this?
Like I said I plan on doing the change tommarow so any info on that would be cool.

I read that some where also. I >think< it was on the drain plug on the front gear box. (I think),,,,,
I reused the same one that was on it, no problem,,

The oil drain plugs on the engine and oil tank have a washer/gasket that they recomend to replace, I don't normally replace it unless it looks bad!!! I would'nt worry about it for the frirst couple of changes!!
