HAWKEYE NEED HELP!!!
#1
i have the '06 hawkeye 300. i took it out riding today, came back and the thing that covers the front storage boxes wont stay up when i open it and push it back. the part that sorta covers the hinges on the front storage compartment is crooked.
there was a rotten log laying across the road about 1.5 ft above the ground. i rammed it just at 5-10 mph and it went through it OK and looked like nothing happened. i think this caused the problem. when i hit the log, it hit the front bumper that looks like a "V". can i have some help please??? thanks!

I recommend that you don't do it again, or trade it in on a tank. You]ve bent the front bumper mounts. Look for kinks in the mounting brackets, straighten them, then re align the hinges on the storage box.

ok, i just turned 15 and got this quad about 3 months ago and its my first quad. i dont know much about it. i know alot about carburetures and engines, but not what you are talking about.
is this something that needs to be fixed before it is ridden much more, or can it wait a couple months for the next service?
and where is the bumper mount? could i get an exploded view or pic?
thanks alot!

go to ronnies.com and see a parts breakdown. if you rammed something like a tree it most likely bent something so start looking around for brackets or what not that looks bent. the front of that bike isnt very strong to be hitting things w/ it.

Only you or a mechanical type person can decide if it should be ridden or serviced by seeing it first hand. Personally I'd bite the bullet and have it checked. You've probably bent other things but you can't be sure.

ok, this is NOTHING like hitting a live tree. this was a wet rotten tree that i just bent and broke it. i was suprised that something had gotten messed up. if it is what you think, what would happen if it got worse?
i would be checking it right now, but its at a hunting camp 1.5 hours away. thats why i want to make sure it doesnt need to be repaired soon because it is a pain to trailer it down here and back.

Yep, it may be a pain right now, but thats nothing like potential pain or injury from an accident or the pain of additional expense caused by driving it while damaged.

Here is a link to an exploded view of the front bumper, maybe it'll help.
