That's funny, I HAD a WARN...left me stuck. Lucky my bud was running some cheapo...I mean REAL cheap...pulled me out, we made it home fine.

tell that to my buddy and his $50.00 harbor freight winch..3 a.m.I would not get out of bed and HE HAD TO WALK for a comealong..i have been up to the rack in the thickest ,blackest stuff around and had smoke pouring from my winch had 2 snapped frt axels and a hole the sized of a beer can in the frt diff..good ole warn kept pulling 40FT at a time, my buddys harbor fright would not even twitch me...i have pulled him out ( 04 600 sportsman) more times cause his winch just would"nt..
my 2 cents said once again -GO WARN OR WALK HOME -- nuff said

haha it sounds like all of the winches break they are the same parts and are all made in china just a sticker and maby a different shell on some. I never saw a cheapo break like i saisd if you are worried buy a spare to bring with you and you will stil spend under 200 dollars when one warn is 300 haha its sounds like a no brainer for me.

now a harbor frate one is diff thats not made for atvs but the gorrillas and venoms are i never had a prob pulling anything including stumps/logs

 

maby the harbor freight was rated for 300 pounds or something like that lol.
