Default trailboss footbrake

I bought my 98 trailboss about 5 months ago and the footbrake has never worked and the owner before me said it never worked. I read on the internet about a recall on the footbrakes of mine and a few other models. has anybody heard of this? and what i could do to fix it?

I've never heard of it, but I don't use my footbrake at all.

Not sure this helps much but I did talk with a Polaris tech and he said it was a poor design and they don't bother servicing them. I did bleed mine once and got it to work but that was very short lived........

ive never heard of any recall. i see on my 08' vs like my 06' that they relocated the brake resior higher up. guessing for more pressure.

Heck and I thought I was a isolated problem. I bought my quad used back in 2003 and shortly after getting it noticed the foot brake not working. I took it in and had them rebled the brakes and it worked a little bit. Like others on here it was very short lived and I just don't ever use it now.

Default trailboss footbrake

Just bought a 2004 scrambler, rear caliper does not work with the front hand brake or rear foot brake. Purchased a new rear caliper, it has not helped.

I can bleed the rear caliper with the front hand brake and fluid will come out the bleeder screw (still does not pump up the brake). No fluid comes out the bleeder screw with the rear foot brake.

Any help would be great

The only way Ive been able to keep mine working is to use it 5 or 6 timnes every time I ride, otherwise I have to bleed it again.
