Default who swap x2 500 front spring for 700/800 ???

Hi all..

Hi want to know who swap the front spring of a 500 efi /500x2 for the 700/800 efi/x2. I want back some groung clearance...after I purchase my X2, I swap the tire for terracross and I loose at lease one inch....( tire are smaller than the 489 stock )

So I want to get back with some other spring...I read a lot of topic but I think personely...swaping for the polaris XD or EPI is to hard for me.....just a tought....but next year I want to purchase a snow plow. I just ask the swaping question who did it...and did some trail riding ( I did 1500 miles a year at lease ) with it and how compare to 500 stock spring.....worth the money ???

thanks for help..

I would say if you are planning on putting a plow on, go with a set of heavy duty springs. Personally I think they ride better, less sag, and better handling. How much smaller tires did you put on it??

You got EPI spring and 1 inch spacer ??? Is not too much stiffer ???? I plan to put a snow plow next year.....put I don't want a stiff ride I have to made a compromise for sure. I did allround 1500 miles per year of winter trail riding. I like the way the polaris plushness suspension.

With the terracross on I lost 1 inch up front for sure....I'll take real mesurment this weekend compare to stock 489 tire of my wife X2...

The spacers are a lift kit. the strut is lifted as well. So it's just a differant spring as far as the ride is concerned, and I love the ride now. It feels a lot more positive now and I don't think I'll ever go back to stock.

I did 50 miles today of trail riding....the spring itself are not to bad but not settle now. I stop at my dealer friday and order the 700/800 spring for the front. Right now I got 9-9 1/4 inch up front, at the dealer in the show room the 700 x2 are 10 inch. So I hoppe lift one inch and firmer the ride a bit. The spring I order supposed to rate 70-120, the dealer said.....I give more news in a couple of week.
