I am looking into purchasing a Polaris Sportsman 500 H.O. very soon. The best price that I can find in Utah is about $6,299.99. Being new to the Polaris family I would like some input on ownership experiences with your Polaris Sportsman’s. Is the quality and longevity there? Can I expect problems with certain things on the bike? Is there anything that I should watch out for? Any input from good to bad would be much appreciated; laying down this kind of money is not done without its homework!

Thank You!

You can't go wrong with a Sportsman. Best ride, great mudder and very powerful! Routine maintenance is to grease a couple dozen zerks once in a while, keep air filter clean and change the oil a couple times a year...thats about it.

Congrats!

I've only had mine for a couple of months, and only 165 miles, but I wouldn't trade it for anything out there.

If you can get it for 6299... you better get it now!!
I've ridden a 2k Prairie 300 4x4, 2k Kodiak 400, and a 2k Bear Tracker 2x4. Although I'm just a rookie, NONE of them even come close to having the ride as the SP 500 H.O. The only thing that I wish the Polaris had was a shaft drive trans like the Honda Rubicon 500. (No offence but I still wouldn't have a Honda)
None of the other ATV's come close to being the beast that the Sportsman is. In my opinion, the only mark against 500 H.O. is the 700+ lbs. it weights.
I just got a '01 Red 500 H.O.w/ a 2k lb. warn winch, spydertrak 26x12's & chrome wheels for 6610.00 tax included. It was used and had 47hrs and 352 miles. It was the best deal I could find.

Can you give me the name, address, and ph.# of the dealer where you're going to get yours from?
Thanks, Nuzbe
