Default Driven clutch problem?

Hi guys, Im new to Polaris, have bought an 04 ATP500, fairly well used, 1500hrs and has a rough engage of drive clutch
I took off cover and operated, the clutch seems to not move in and out smoothly, but jump half inch or so when first engaging belt, around 2500rpm, after this works smooth and OK
Can someone tell me whats wrong and what to do next?

Diff works OK, hoping not axle issues others have had!

Sounds like time for a clutch rebuild. You can check the outer bushing where te clutch slides they can get warped or gaulded and hang up.It in where the bolt goes through.

w/ that many hrs i would pull it off(drive or engine clutch) and check all parts from being worn out and maybe rebuild it. imo.
