Default Add-on Fuel Gauge

Good Day,

I purchased an 02 Sportsman 700 and need some help if possible. Is there anyway
to add an fuel gauge? My old Kaw650 had one so I guess I am spoiled. I also
miss pull start but that is a different topic.

Any insite would be helpful!

Thanks---Opsman56

This what I do. I set tripmeter at zero after a fill up and when it reads 90 miles I know i,m walking soon. More accurate than any gas gage I have seen so far.

TLC,

Like I said....I am spoiled by the gas gauge and forgot all about the trip meter.
Thanks for turning on the "light bulb".

I don't know how good they are but there is an ad on Ebay that a guy has. He is selling gas caps with a guage in it and he will custom make it if you need for the depth of the tank. I think he is asking $15 for it, I was considering one for myself. It looks just like the one I used to have on my lawnmower.

I just went on Ebay and looked. If you type in "Polaris Gas Cap" , there are alot of them out there in different lengths.

This is what I went with for the 1999 Xplorer 300

Gas Cap

Not sure if it'll fit an 02 700

I put a mechanical gauge in my Scrambler and it was like $12. Best money I ever spent.

I sure as heck wouldn't depend on the tripometer......It all depends on what kind of riding you do....You can get half the miles per tank if you're doing alot of muddin or if you're in Low alot......

Its gives you a good idea though. I ride with two guys with a 660 Grizzly and 500 Foreman and they have those digital display gas gages where you start off on full of gas with 3 or 4 bars showing on the digital display. The first set of bars disappear quickly while the LAST remaining bar lingers one for a long while. This is useless because you do not know if that last remaining bar showing means your good for 2 miles or 15 miles of riding or what? . The trip meter combined with the reserve switch, works out great for me.
