opinion on 200 Phoenix
#1
I have an oportunity to buy an 05 that appears to be in good condition. I've read a bewildering range of opinions from I love it to I hate it. I'd be buying it for my wife to ride around the property........nothing to crazy. The owner just replaced the electric starter and it seems to run ok......will need rear tires soon. I can get this machine for under $1000.00. do you think it's worth it or should I spend a little more and get a 250 Trailblazer which can be had around here between $1200-$1500 in good condition. In concept, the Phoenix looks pretty good with front disc brakes, double A-arms and the frame looks rugged enough. I realize it's made in Taiwan...Taiwan machines are usually a step up from mainland china. The Kymco comes to mind as a decent Taiwan made machine.

I'm looking for pros and cons also.
I am looking to buy a fully auto for my wife and can buy a Trailblazer that needs a set of sprockets and a chain for about 1200.......It's in really nice shape other than that.
I like the thought of a 4 stroke over the 2 stroke for the wife. Any input would be appreciated.

If I had a chance to get a nice Trailblazer, I'd go for that model.....2 strokes are really easy to rebuild and start easy no matter what the temp is. I can't find a decent Tralblazer right now around here and I stumbled upon the Phoenix. I'm looking at it this Saturday so I'll let you all know what I find.

NO mods for pheonix available????
I don't think many would be needed anyway. Maybe some nicer wheels but she's just gonna want to be out with me/us and doesn't plan on competing or anything.
I've ridden the Trailblazer and it rides way nice. It's kinda like a Cadillac compared to the Blaster I ride. Not as fast and it doesn't handle as well though....even though it has a bigger motor.
Since the trailblazer doesn't have a limit on time to purchase(sister-in-law owns it) I'll probably end up with that unit anyway. I just thought I'd watch the input on this thread still.... I figured the smaller size would be good for me 5 foot tall itty bitty wifey.
