Blackthunder700 we are not trying to start a fight here. From your name you must have a black 700 popo. If this is true then you have a made in the USA by polaris twin cylinder. I have visited many Polaris plants. Spirit Lake, IA. Vermillion, SD. Medina, MN. just to name a few. On the tour they say "Here at Polaris we design and manufacture all of our twin engines." That "all" word can be a little misleading. If you want proof of what jumbofrank and I have said go to atv.com and read the XP 850(twin made in USA by POPO) and the XP 550(single made by Fuji) reviews. Hope this clears up the confusion.

I guess you missed the part where everyone else was talking about 500 and 550 SINGLES, not 600, 700, 800, or 850 TWINS. We all know the Liberty twins are made here by Polaris, but no one was talking about them.

I was giving you the benefit of the doubt when I posted that, hoping what I heard wasn't really what you meant to say. I didn't miss anything either, and ALL the Polaris ATV motors aren't made by Polaris. If you think they are you're just plain wrong. About a million were made by Fuji AKA Subaru.
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/F...Heavy_Industries,_Ltd. "The industrial products division manufactures and sells commercial engines, pumps and generators under the Subaru-Robin brand in North America, and as Robin everywhere else. Fuji's industrial products division, began manufacturing "Star" engines for Polaris Industries snowmobiles in 1968 but the cooperation ended in 1998 when Polaris Industries started to build their own brand new Liberty two-stroke engines, but Fuji remains a Polaris supplier of pistons to this day. Fuji is a partner with Polaris, owning a percentage of Polaris stock. Fuji has provided more than 2 million engines used in Polaris snowmobiles, ATVs, watercraft and utility vehicles."

Blackthunder700 please do not insult us we 550 and 500 and less owners actually have these machines. We are not denying that yours says made in USA because we all know the 600 and up twins are made by polaris here in the USA. Not just in MN, I think Kenosha WI. has an engine facility. Our SINGLE cylinder POPO's say "Fuji" right on the engine block. This is not an opinion it is a fact. You say you saw it on a TV show Dirt tracks and fisher atv world, they went through the engine factory in MN. If this is the case they too were only talking about making all the liberty series engines (which are twins ). Can you tell me what series engine our singles are? They are star which are made by Fuji. You say you are "not going to believe what we are thinking or think we know". We don't have to think we know we can read on our engine blocks. It would be like us saying that all engines are made by fuji. We are not saying that at all, we are glad that we know POPO builds a kick a$$ twin here in America. As much as we all would like every part of our POPO to be made right here in the US of A, they sadly are not. Could they? Most definately. If they can manufacture a twin, a single should not be too complicated. Anyway, we have treated you with respect. Please offer us proof in the form of link like we have offered you saying that the singles are made by Polaris and we would all be willing to stand corrected. Wonder why they would stamp the block "Fuji Heavy Industries" then??
