Polaris winch.

I've only heard bad things about the polaris winches. Will the dealers let you upgrade to the Warn winch on the deluxe models that already have the polaris winch mounted? I figure for the extra $100, it sounds like it would be well worth it.

I don't know for sure, but I think that the Polaris winch is a Warn winch. I don't think Polaris tooled a factory to make winches when they're not in that business. Back in 2003 I bought a Yamaha Kodiak and it came with a plow set up. It had Yamaha cut out in the steel braces of the plow, but it was actually a Warn plow and used a Warn mount and Warn hand lever. I know it was a Warn because I had to replace the mount and thats what I ordered.

That what I was thinking, they don"t make there spin on oil filter, light bulbs or any bearings also even though they come out of a Polaris box.

If it's an 07 Deluxe it's NOT a Warn. It's a cheap knock off and they seem to have problems. I told my dealer to take it off before they even got the bike in, and put a 3000# Warn on. It hasn't given me a lick of trouble and my buddy with the same bike and Polaris winch and he's had a lot of problems with it.

The Polaris winch is not a Warn..It is made for Polaris in China...We have two 2007 500 EFI Deluxe with this winch...One has had no problems and the other has had the contactor replaced..The one with no problems is used often..My dealer told us this winch has been changed (different part numbers) about six times since Polaris started using it...
