Default SKID PLATES

All -

I see from time to time in these ATV
mags. custom part dealers with these
full chassis and arms body (belly) Skid Plates.

Anyone running them? How much more weight
does it add to the quad? What are the
PROs and CONs?

Thanks,

R'

the only company that makes them for the 800 is Ricochet, the are expensive, but as soon as I get the cash I'm getting the a-arm and belly plates. I have a PRM swing arm plate on my Trailblazer and its really thick but is very light, so I don't think they would add to much weight.

ya you want to keep it nice and straight, you should come ride in Arizona. the a-arm skid plates are cheaper than a-arms.

I've been looking at the Richochet A-Arm plates for the front and rear, looks like they would be a big help. Not sure about the full skid plate, the Polaris frame looks pretty solid for rock crawling.

the only real issue is the stud from the front engine mount on the bottom of the frame, one wrong hard hit could break it and believe me you don't want the engine mount to break, my bikes in the shop again from issues when the mount broke a while back.

Wow, if I had rocks like that in my normal riding routine, I'd definitely get skidplates. Nice pic.
