yep thats how it works until the oil pump fails and the motor burns up.

don't let this worry ya it hardly ever happens, polaris oil injection in a good working system and i've never had one go out and burn up the motor and i bought my first polaris in 1991 and have had several since, just check the cable and spring occasionally and adjust as needed

i read that it has a pvt drive is this similar to cvt?

if you have no warrentee i would switch to pre-mix,my oil pump failed and it was $1,200 to fix,from bottom end to crank case, piston,bearings.... why chance it?

here is what the kit looks like

Oil Injection Block Off Kits

Eliminate the possibility of an engine seizure due to an oil pump failure. Kit includes the plug and plate needed to remove the pump. The oil tank can also be removed when pre-mixing the fuel.

what if i just mix the gas and dont get the block off kit?

Injector failures are very rare and most times it is due to a bad cable.
