Default 3500 polaris warn winch rope

I just bought a new 800 sportsman ( the 99 explorer is still running great but wanted a new toy) and had a 3500 polaris winch installed on it. The dealer told me that It said if it came with a blue nylon cable that it had to be replaced with a different one. Has anyone else had this issue and what is the problem with the blue one? I appreciate any help with this.

That is a good question. Apparently it says it in the instalation instructions. It said if your rope is blue replace it now with..... and it gave a part number. I am still waiting on the replacement.

My understanding is that the blue rope is good up to a 2500 lb winch, maybe the 3500 is too powerful.

Just checked and the blue rope is good to 4000 lb's, fine for a straight pull but how about if you are using a ****** block ? Anybody know the rating for the steel cable?

the blue is SUPPOSED to be just as strong as steel if not stonger (so they say) maybe its the wrong diameter rope giving less of a rating?

People use synthetic ropes on the trucks!!! so they have to be strong enough for a quad given the right diameter
