Default looking at getting an early 90's 350 4X4

My brother sent me a text message yesterday letting me know that he stumbled across an early 90's 350 cc Polaris 4X4 ATV for $150. All I know about the quad is that it is missing the clutch cover, but it will supposedly start up. Other than that and a bad camera phone picture I don't have any other information.

Is there any common problems with these machines? I assume since the clutch cover is gone that there were some problems with it in the transmission and/or clutch. Are they difficult or expensive to rebuild/replace? I work as a diesel mechanic so I'm pretty sure I can figure most anything out with a manual. I just mainly want to get some opinions on if I should go after a quad like this. It will be for my wife since she can't drive a manual.

$150 why not. as far as making an everyday driver? who knows. I would buy it sight unseen for 150 if guaranteed to run.

I actually have one I put into correct condition that I really like . The chassis and ride is suprising close to a newer scrambler . Personally , I'd do what Doc Lang says .
