Default Tire Question

Hi all, Im new to the forum & have a question. I have a 96 Xplorer & would like to put on some agressive mud tires (have some bear claws right now) & the problem is the stock tire size is 22x8-10fr & 24x11-10rear & I cant find tires I want in these sizes.
Now what I would like to do is change the front drive sprocket so that I can run same hight tires front & rear.
Has anyone done this? I know its possable but the hard part is finding the right ratio sproket with the right shaft size & spline count. Any help would be great!!!

Default Tire Question

they make mudlites in your stock sizes.what kind of tire are you looking at or wanting to get? it would be easier to change the rear sprocket. i think when you change the front sproket it's like changing 2 1/2 in the rear but i can't remember which way though.you can go to bikebandit.com or denniskirk.com you can look up parts by your quad and get sprockets in diffrent tooth sizes for your quad. you can contact Rick Ritter and get a stage 1 fit from him that would help you alot with out changing sprockets.i think his website is rittercyles.com

Default Tire Question

I never even thought about changing out the rear sprocket!!! Whats the stage 1 kit? The tires I was looking at are the SUPER SWAMPER VAMPIRE tires my father inlaw runs them & I like em. I was also kicking around the idea of tracks but then the gear ratio would have to be spot on front & rear for that to work. One drawback is my quad is only a 300cc, but I love it cause its so light & no front diff or diff lock. Its just nice & simple, kinda like me!!!

i'm not sure they make them for 10" rims. the stage 1 kit is pipe, silencer, jets, air box mod,air filter, and clutch kit i think thats all of it. my 400 has the same size tires as your but with it 2wd i run maxxis front pro on the front i have 22x11x10 carisle stryker on the rear. the problem i have is the smaller rear tire has changed the steering and it runs out of gear (lower top speed) but great bottom end pulls the front wheels of the ground on command. still stock bike waiting for the wife to let me get the stage 1 kit for mine.(if mom ain't happy nobody's happy LOL ). Rick Ritter is a good guy he has a shop in IL i think. everyone on here gives great reviews about him and his parts. you could put a lift kit in and go to 12" rims alot more selection of tires for them

i think it's $375 for the kit.it's the cheapest way to got you could'nt buy them seperate for that.when you call him to order it he'll ask you a bunch of questions about the altitude, riding style, etc so he can send the right parts for your application.
