Hi all
First message great site ![img]i/expressions/face-icon-small-smile.gif[/img]
I have a polaris preditor 500 ,2007.Road legal. [img]i/expressions/face-icon-small-cool.gif[/img]
Can any one help it still has its restritor/limiter on it ,which is holding it back to 55mph?[img]i/expressions/face-icon-small-sad.gif[/img]
Does anyone no how to remove it .The dealer said it something to do with the cdi box but can not go in to anymore detail (thanks for that!)
Do i need to get a new unlimit cdi box if there is such a thing or am i barking up the wrong tree!!!!!!![img]i/expressions/face-icon-small-confused.gif[/img]
please help

that sounds weired to me that it only goes 55
somebody on here will chime in with an answer

ya, 55 is way slow for stock. But ya the rev limiter changes with a new cdi box. Usually doesnt eliminate the limiter but makes it so high you will never touch it. So just change your cdi box, should take care of it. You can find them all over.

Before you buy a new CDI, check the stock one and see if it has a metal jumper somewhere on it that is removable.

One more question,(or two)
Were the hell is the cdi box.had a quick look this morning but to be honest did'nt know that i was looking for[img]i/expressions/face-icon-small-blush.gif[/img]
If i did need a new one if a bought it from the states would that one be unlimit?

Its on the frame. Cant quite remember off hand what side or where for sure. follow your plug wire to your coil. then your coil wires go to your cdi box. Its just like a black plastic box with maybe two screws holdin right on the frame. Like Evaisiveone says, check for a metal jumper of some sort. If not then ya, most on the internet have one but like I said it wont touch it, its way to high of a limiter. The stock one here would prob even let you get 75 or so!

HI AGAIN ALL
I think i have found want a need is this right to sort the problem
Item number: 140214535436 it on US flea bay

Procom Performance CDI for all Polaris Predator 2005+$79.95+P+P($12.99)is this about right,can't seem to find one in uk.
It says it just replace old unit and plugs straight in ,but will it need a re-tune after?
