Popo 800 strange behavior
#1
My 800 check engine light came on while plowing snow in Ohio...the bike started sputtering while going forward when giving about 1/2 throttle(machine acts kinda similar to the way it would act if giving full throttle in reverse w/o hitting the overide button) Dealer said it threw a code because I didnt let it warm up enough before running it hard causing the machine run rich (even though it is efi) and throw a code. Dealer claimed it is not uncommon when machine is run hard w/o proper warm up. I admittedly did not warm the bike up for long( i was in a hurry). Does this make sense? has anyone had this problem?

Its an 07 800 so it shouldnt be the coil problem on older 800's. The receipt on the Repair Order said loss of synchronization with a note that this can be casued by improper warm up...dont know if this is BS or not and I am about out of warranty. This is the only problem I have had with the bike besides the tranny drain plug that was too long.

we had a machine do that at work, called polaris, and they said that it is caused by improper warmup, just means the crank position sensor wasn't picking up the signal for some reason. not sure why that would be caused by it being cold, didn't realize the temp of the motor could cause electrical problems on the crank sensor

Thats good to hear...it sounded so strange that improper warmup would trip the code but if thats what you have heard also I know they arent feeding me b.s.
