is my shock bad or is this what shocks are suppose to do?

EDIT: additional info

the quad only has 600 miles on it and about 100 miles of that is running 1.5 inch wheel spacers front and rear, I know it adds strain to the suspension but I didn't think it would do this.

I don't know much about shocks, but my guess is that its okay. The spring would provide most of the resistance under compression, and rebound damping is controlled by the shock valving. So it makes sense to me that the rod would go in by hand easily, but come back out slower like it shows in the video.

Thats my two cents.

I would say that it should take a great amount of force to make the shock go in. The spring would be to aid it in extended it back out. I would think it's bad.

Most shocks I seen come with a safety wire around them to keep them in(not extended) when new......Once this is removed after install ......The shock should extend with huge (great) force!!........not sure about the ATV shocks though..........but it should entend faster than it doing in the video clip.........That's my view.....................Caper.............

Why did you remove it.........Was the Quad low on one side or not driving normal...........

I was putting on EPI HD springs because my rear tires would touch the plastic, so I thought stiffer springs would keep it from doing that but it turns out the shock is bad.

It does this on both sides

Thats terrible that your shocks were THAT weak or blown with your ATV being only a year old.

Why bad shocks so soon?????.............Caper.........
Are you doing anything with the Quad that is out of the normal wear and tear?
It must be a quad used for work more than play.....Or you just got some bad shocks!!........Caper.........

I bought it in October new and I ride it hard and fast on trails, but wouldn't think the shocks would go bad this soon
