Default extra bad shape

Somehow I got the starter issue worked out. I went to start it and had to grind on it a little, it cold so I figured it would take a minute to get started. It never would crank so at the advice of my buddy we checked the fuel tank. I shrugged(i had just filled it up a couple of days ago and not ridden since) the tank was empty. Further investigation discovered the air box was full of fuel. I emptied it and started it up. I let it run for about 20 seconds and felt that it probably needed a plug change. After some more poking around I found that there is gas in the oil. Now what? obviously I will change the oil. What has happened to get in this bad of shape?

When you say the air box was full of fuel, you mean to the top? If so, I would venture to guess the vent tube supplied the crank case with the fuel.

good point. It was filled to the top. After I change the oil will there be any lasting problems with the rod bearing etc...? thats my biggest concern.

I'd change it, run it some then change it again. Shouldn't have had any lasting affect on it.

The float stuck one the carb before on my wife's snowmobile!!
It also filled the cylinders and crank full of fuel!
Repaired and started using the fuel shut-off never had a problem since!!......That was on a 2-stroke motor though!!!...........You should be fine ....Just find out why the fuel all drained out first!!!!.....Caper.

I think the float stuck on mine as well. I tapped all around on the carb, I'll just play it by ear see what happens.

Sorry had to leave in a hurry there.

Yeah, once you find the original problem on the fuel leak, you'll be good to go.
