Hello,

I have recently purchased a 2001 sportsman 500 H.O. Duse. I have put about 50 miles on it with no problems until last weekend. When I let off the gas and let the machine idle, the machine still wants to creep forward. It seems like the clutch isnt releasing properly. It does this in reverse as well. Also, It has a Warn winch and I tried using that last weekend. It seems like it doesnt have a lot of power. As soon as it gets a load on it, it just clicks. Any help on either of these issues would be greatly appreciated.

the winch sounds like it is shot and the clutches probably need to be realigned

 

Does the idle seem faster than before? Winches are like that one day the work the next day its time to buy another one.

 

Yeah, now that you mention it. It does seem to idol a little faster. I will check that out. Thanks

 

by the winch clicks is it in teh gears or is it a solonoid click likw what you hear when you start your atv. it might just need a new electricals system.

 

sounds like time to get the front clutch rebuilt

 

I dont think it is in the gears. It pulls fine until it has a load on it. It will lift and lower a plow just fine.
