Default 2006 polaris 450

My family has gotten a 2006 polaris 450 and it seems the All wheel Drive does not work. I would like to know how to find out why this is, and whats the differents in all wheel drive and four wheel drive in atvs.

thanks

Well I have two 450's from 2006 .........Also have a Factory service Manual for any other info or specs you may need!!

How are you testing the 4x4 ??
The differance between AWD and 4x4 is AWD will engage when needed and 4x4 in Quads is four wheel drive is "locked" in otherwords It's in 4x4 or not in 4x4

With the Polaris system the front wheels will not engage until the rear wheels sense a fraction of slippage!!!
This happens so fast you can't even notice any spinning of the rear wheels when working properly!!
....Hope that helps.......Caper..

Are you just getting no AWD in reverse??
If so the Yellow override button needs to be pushed and "HOLD" when going in reverse for safe rider operation!!!

I am reading the full steps now in the Polaris manual for troubleshooting the NO AWD !!
There are different things to check for in the process....
First key switch on
Transmission set in Neutral
AWD switch on!!
