Default 2000 Xpedition Brake Problems

I just bought a 2000 Xpedition from a guy. He informed me about the brake problems with the machine. This is whats going on with it. The brakes only work when you push both the hand brake and the foot brake at the same time. If you only push one nothing happens. It does have fluid in the system. Any ideas on what the problem might be? Any help greatly appreciated. Thanks

welcome to the forum. well since the rear foot brake only controls the rear wheels im guessing that maybe a value is messing up back feeding pressure not allowing the hydraulic pressure to be used where its needed. they have seperate master cylclinders for each front and back. did you try bleeding the brakes in good shape/

I would say something is wrong with the rear caliper. Like Stendori said, the rear brake (foot Pedal), and handlebar brake are two completely different sytems, with only the caliper in common.
I just got rid of my 00 Xpedition , for a Rzr. I sure miss that thing. It was the most dependable Quad I've ever owned.

Does the left brake lever feel like there is any resistance/pressure when you pull it? Doc

No there is no restriction when you push only one or the other. It only stops when you push both. If you mentioned that the brakes share only the same caliper, then I guess that would be a good place to start looking. I'll check it out. Thanks

The Brake fluid is full and I do have pads on the front and back. It's strange because if you push the front brake you can feel the resistance in the foot brake when you push on it and vice versa. Almost feels like there connected somehow. Someone told me that they share the same caliper so I'm going to check that out when I get a chance.
