does it still work well with no hi/lo range??</end quote></div>
AFter the CVT performing with tracks, on both machines, I don't see the need for H/L in these light weight machines. Tracks put quite a strain on the power train and dealer could find no measureable wear on the belts in 500 mi on each quad.
Just not necessary IMHO

I have a 300 and 400. There is just no comparison. A hot rod.</end quote></div>
The 300 is air cooled correct?
And the Sp 400 is Water cooled(450cc)
I have the same motor in the larger frame Sp 450 2006
I think it is fast enough for what my wife and I need!!
So with the smaller/lighter frame it should react well.
As long as there is no frame issues with the smaller frame and more power then the 300cc.....I think Polaris thought about this well before hand anyway!!.....I happy with the Polaris 450 cc motor
ECM issues is another story though!!...LOL....Caper.......

The 400 is the hot rod. I just don't need anything faster and it handles almost as good as the air cooled Hawkeye. The frame is beefed up on the 400HO as are the rear IRS. The 400 is about 85 lbs heavier according to my scale.
I guess for muddin' etc, there is no replacment for displacement but I've got lots to pull the tracks and they chew up power.
