Default PREDATOR 500 HIGH OCTANE

Well i have a predator 500, and i was always wondering if vp racing fuel would help my quads perfomance. I wanted to know if its ok to use it on my quad, cause 100 octane gas sounds like it would give you alot performance on a pred.

Use the recommended octane that it says to use in your manual. Anything over the recommended rating is a waste of money without motor work like hi compression pistons etc etc.

Sportsman is absolutely correct, octane is not the "power" in the gas, it is the rate of combustion in the chamber. Low octane gas ignites very quickly, and in hot, high compression cylinder, will cause preignition "ping" and cause piston and cylinder wall damage with the "explosions" resulting from it. High octane fuel resists igniting until the spark plug fires, protecting your motor, and allowing you to run high compression pistons and radical dwell cams. To put it simply, high octane, slow burn, low octane, quick explosive burn. High octane in a stock, lower compression motor can even hurt performance, anyone who tells you " I picked up 5 hp running race gas" on a stock motor is full of it. Now, if you have a stock motor running on 87 octane, and are going to run it very hard, and know it will get very hot, running 92 premium for that instance would probably help keep the motor from pinging under heavy load and high heat conditions. But for basic trail riding with a few drag races thrown in, pump gas is all you need. Sorry for the long post, just wanted to make sure to answer any questions or doubts.
