EFI or H.O. - Which has better acceleration?

imo efi is better reponse and is a little more power, but there again i think the 02's would out run the newer ones by the sounds of it.

I have a 500X2 and with the EFI and better clutching it will outrun my buddies lighter 500 HOs!</end quote></div>
Do you mean for top end, bottom end, or both?
A lot of guys, who have clutched, once they pull a head of their buddy back off rather than seeing if he has equal or better top end.</end quote></div>
I get them about 1 bike length out of the hole and another 1-2 up to 55 and we top out around 55. Short runs maybe a 1/4 mile at the longest.
I do have the HC weights and have them set to get max rpm. This mod gave me a bike length. It will also beat my Can Am 400 now.
I think the older 500HOs are geared higher, maybe he could get me in a longer 1+ mile race.

My buddy has a '03 500 H.O. I have ridden it plenty of times, it really gets out of the hole quick. A lot quicker then the '03 400 I have. That one rolled down a hill and has been totaled by the insurance company. I think I can fix it for less but I have wanted a 500 since the day I bought the 400. I just don't want to spend the money to get a 500 EFI and still get beat by him.

Most definitely. Been thinking about clutching but Mr. Ritter said I should do all exhaust first. Then clutch kit.

I have to say the EFI is better. In a straight run I can beat the ATP with the 500HO by a couple of lengths. They are relatively similar weight and length wize.
