hawkeye 300 4x4

Default hawkeye 300 4x4

Hi, I just bought a used hawkeye 300 4x4 with no manual. Does anyone know the oil capacity with filter? thanks

Manual says 2 quarts, but i'd start with a little over 1.5 quarts. Mine usually takes about 1.75 quarts to be at the full mark. 2 quarts and mine will be too full.

It should be the same unless yours has the optinal auxillary oil cooler (looks like a small radiator). The Polaris Service manual actually says 1.4-1.7 quarts per oil/filter change without the oil cooler.

thanks again, got one more question. there is an angled plug on the right side of the oil pan, is it another drain plug, maybe for an additional oil chamber?

I dont think so. There is just one drain bolt.

Hey Northgang,

I have a 2007 Haweye and i have changed (Oil & Filter) 2-times on mine and it has taken 2-quarts and its not over the Fill Mark !!

Northgang, you may want to go to the Polaris site and download a owners manual for your bike...you will have to register your e-mail addy but no biggy. Heres the link

Real Important.

If you change your own oil, make sure you use a 6mm allen wrench in the drain plug. IT IS METRIC. If you use a SAE (american) wrench, you will probably strip the bolt.
