new front springs
#1
I just installed a set of 800 springs on my 500.
I had the Polaris HD springs.
The 800 springs are 1/2 way between the soft 500 springs and the HD springs.
It sits the same as the HD springs but is a lot softer. I can easily push it up and down 3-4" now. With the HD springs I could barely move it an inch.
The front and rear seem to be close the same now.
I'll let you know how it works next week, have a long poker run this Sunday.

Got a nice run in Sunday! The front rides a lot softer now with the 800 springs compared to the HD springs, it soaks up the rocks and ruts better. The atv feels balanced better, front and rear work together now. THe HD springs wanted to pogo to much, I guess too stiff spring and not strong enough shock.

How long did you keep the HD springs on? I got a free set from a friend who thought they were too firm on his wifes bike, he likes them on his. I'm thinking of giving them a try and see if they get softer, I know my factory springs seemed to get real soft after only a few hundred miles. If they don't work out I'm going with the 800 springs or EFI's.

I installed the HD right after I bought the X2. mid 07. I put over 1000 miles on them and plowed this winter, they didn't seem to loosen up any. THe stock 500 were way too soft the HD are too stiff and the 800 are perfect! I have a winch, brushguard and box full of stuff.
I installed the spring height adjusters also, I may need to adjust them up next winter if the front sags too much with the plow on.
Its sitting with the front wheels barely cambered in at the top | | looks better than it did sitting like this on the dealer floor / \

Should be interchangeable the same years. check to make sure of the spring rate.

I put on the HD springs and love them so far. I haven't gotten to ride them on dirt and rocks yet but it should be better clearance wise. I did take them on a long ride in the snow on a groomed trail and hit a bunch of 1 foot spaced bumps. It got old. But, my son and friend who were with me didn't have a good ride in that section either. I noticed when I've been using it around the house, that it is actually a little lighter feeling in the front. Just my opinion.

i have the hd springs and love em. they are starting to soften up a bit too. When I first put them on i could barely get the front to compress by putting all my wieght on the front bumper - now it compresses about3 inches when I do the same thing. I wouldnt trade for a thing.
