Is there a trick to taking off the handle to the gear shifter on my 06 500?

 

If you are talking of the **** on the shift lever - pop the cap off the top, remove the screw underneath, and slide the **** off.

is that the same way with the hawkeye? can you put other shifter levers onto them like skulls and stuff like that?

My Wife has a 08 300 and I got one for her. I'll let you know if it's the same..

Yep, The Wife's is the same. Just pop the top..
