rust and mud on quad?
#1
I rebuilt my 2004 scrambler for this ridding season and lubed everything and noticed alot of rust at the joints of the frame. Is there a way to prevent this in the future(wd40 sprayed on the frame?). Should it be ok to use a metal brush to remove the rust and then spray paint over those sections to prevent future problems?
My next issue is with mud. The place I ride has this clay type mud that just will not come off. I thought I read someplace about spraying your quad down with something before you go in the mud to help prevent it from sticking so bad. Anybody know what it could be or know a good way to help prevent spending 2-3 hours trying to clean the quad after each ride?

Can't help with the rust issue. But for the mud, some people use pledge furniture polish or stp son of a gun dressing. I've even heard of people using wd40. All will help keep mud from sticking to the plastic.

i love the pledge furnature aerasol spray. we do our race cars on the clay dirt ovals comes righ toff with teh hose on sunday morning after racing all saterday. and for rust don't be afraid to spray it down with wd-40 we spray all of the heim ends on the race cars down every weekend. a wire brish should be fine 2. make shure everything always has grees in it to keep rust out of eh important suspention parts like a-arms swingarms stearing bushings drive shafts whatever your atv has a grees zerk on.

Thanks for the replys! Yea I always keep the important part sprayed with Pure Polaris spray lube. I just never noticed the frame joints were getting rusty.
As for the spraying for mud thing goes I will try a few things out and see what works best.
