The ’01 SP HO has only one zerk on the steering post or “stem,” unlike the previous SPs which had two. The zerk faces forward up near the top. If you’re careful you can sneak a flex hose between the underside of the headlight and the top edge of the “hood” to service it. The lower zerk on the post which was just above the inner tie rod end mount and accessible from the left side has been eliminated with the upgraded steering components/geometry. You might also find it more easily accessible by turning your handlebars. The zerk remains facing forward.
