Default 800EFI

So, instead of fixing my machine, I'm looking at getting a newer used machine, or a brand new machine. I stopped at a local place by me that had a bunch of 07 800 efi's. They even had one that they called a "special edition". Basically it was an 800EFI with a stealth black color. The rims were also black instead of the chrome. Very nice looking! The weird thing was, it didn't have dual exhaust. Any idea why that would be? The price wasn't bad either. So, I'm trying to decide on that or just a regular 800. The other thing, it is only like 2 or 300 more dollars to get an 08. Any help or suggestions/comments would be great!

Jeff

It never seems like they give you a very good deal on last year's models. I would spend the extra money for the 08 unless you really like the 07.

My 800 with single exhaust seems to be just a little louder than my friend's with the duals. Not sure if that matters for you. I have no problems with mine, and no plans to change it for a dual set up.

Yeah, you would think they would want last years models gone and off the floor so they could bring in more new models....

That is interesting that the single is louder than the dual. The only reason I ask was I couldn't figure out why a special edition would have a single while the plain deluxe has dual. I personally like the looks of the dual better. Thanks for the replies!

I have the dual on my 800 and I really like the looks of it too. I think you can get better performance on a single pipe, though, as some have attested to on this forum. But, I still like the looks of it. I'm with you, though, I wonder why it doesn't have it. Maybe they took it off? I've seen some dealers do some shady stuff to make a sale!

in 07' they had either a regular 800 or a delux which came w/ the duals, winch, and adc. personaly i would go w/ the 08' 800 as its a HO(high output) and comes w/ everything the delux has except a winch i think. you wouldnt be sorry you did.

Thanks again for all of the replies guys! I stopped at another dealer this evening and finally got to test drive one out. OMG! I can't believe how nice of a machine it is. After that, we went and talked numbers. They are giving me a GREAT price for trade in on my current wheeler. I'll probably be picking it up on Saturday. I have a feeling I'll be out in the woods ALL weekend! I of course added the winch and the work lights. For some reason, none of the 08's had the work lights, so they are going to wire them up for me. I got the stealth black! Darn nice color! I do have one question though, what is the best way to break these machines in?

Break it in honestly like the way your going to use it, just dont get on it right away after you start it. let it bring up temps even though its efi youll'll hear it then break it in like your going to use it the belt needs time to correct itself..........................
