When you start it cold, let it sit and idle for a few minutes before you take off. Then don't go over half throttle for the first ten hours. Half throttle on the 800 gives more than enough power and speed for most riding situations. During this time, vary throttle positions while riding, not constantly, just don't ride at any single throttle setting for an extended period of time.

I did what the manual suggested on both my 500 and 800 and haven't had any engine problems. And neither one burns a spec of oil.

Congratulations and good luck.

Thanks for all of the replies guys! I appreciate it.

I was also wondering where all of you are getting accessories such as brush guards for your 07's and 08's? I haven't found much out there.

thanks!
