change the oil you can get the oil at polaris a manuel will tell you how often to change what somethings go longer than others. you will have to greese all of the greese fittings some people do this every ride some people let it go longer. some people don't grees it and break stuff its up 2 u. the manuel will tell you how often to do everything like belts air filter but stuff like that is also on how you drive the atv and if you pull heavy loads up hill smoke it or if you ride in dusty conditions. i see no were on eather of my belts that are over 5 years old. i do but its very small i put a new one on and can't feel a diff.

by the way you have discribed your problem, it sounds like you have bent the metal bracket welded to the base of the steering shaft where the tierods connect. There is a posibility that it is simply bent and can be fixed, but it probably has bent AND cracked that metal flange and in that case would have to be replaced and wouldn't be safe to drive as is!
As stated in previous posts, even if it is simply bent, bending it back without reinforcement of some kind will fatigue the metal and is a failure/accident just waiting to happen!

One of my friend bent a Yamaha tie-rod when he hit a tree, and straightened out instead of replacing it. It kept bending in the same place and didn't take much to do it. It seems like the steel got soft but it probably just wasn't perfectly straight. Once it's bent it just seems to fold after that.
