Hello all.... i have a polaris scrambler 400... i ran it with no counter balance oil in it. i dont know how long, but it runs good... i addd counter balance oil 10w40 and it started smoking so bad out the exhaust u couldnt see anything... so i drained it and it eventually stoped..... what do i need to do to fix this... i know that it cant be good to run it without that oil its there for a reason... do i need new engine seals? piston rings? the compression is good... i also drained all the anti freeze and put oil back in it and it started smoking again... so i am 100% sure its coming from the counter balance fluid... i just need to know what i need to do to fix it, i just got done doing a top and bottom on a banshee. so i do know a little about what im doing just not to good with polaris.

You're going to have to tear into the bottom end. This means that you'll have to pull the engine out. I'm guessing that the whole bottom end is going to need new seals (crankshaft, water pump, etc.). Just buy a seal kit and some time on a weekend.
