Default 2008 Polaris Sportsman 500 EFI Review

I got the 08 500 Sportsman EFI with ADC this thing rocks the house , when I pulled it off the trailer i knew it was a darn good one too, the Carbed model felt weird, it felt really lethargic and slow to get up to speed, but the EFI model is like night and day compared to the carb model, no comparison really, go with the EFI its a beast. And I probally should say that it does do wheelies if you want it to, its got that much grunt, and when you are in ADC low 4wd it will climb a tree. I am so impressed with this wheeler, I almost joined the 800 club but couldnt justify it after riding the 500 EFI. the wife loves it and the kids loves and I love it, I rode it 32 miles today and it does every task well, but that ride is not duplicatable by any other maker, its just Incredible. Okay Im wiping away the tears, Im real happy with it, dont let the price difference fool you its worth the extra dollars for ADC and fuel injection. thanks to the Guys that helped me decide on this wheeler cause I really wanted it to be right and it is perfect. I was just going to post the same observation. I took my 2008 500 EFI for its first ride today... Awesome! It seems to have quite a bit more power then the '03 400 I use to have. Also, I love not having to jack with the choke. My '03 didn't have engine braking or ADC - I'm not sure if I ever used the brakes today. Both definately a plus!

There was one bad part though... I didn't get to ride long enough

Great machine!

Our 2008 500 EFI's are two weeks old and we took them out for our fist ride on Saturday. They are our first ATV's and the only other ATV I have been on was a Arctic Cat. So, we don't have a lot of experience, buy so far we love em.

Nice, Rickey. You have three positions on the AWD switch right? My only advice is to not use ADC unless you actually need it. And you're right, EFI is very nice.

3 positions yes, i chose the adc when I was coming down a 45 degree hill and it worked great, that EFI is spot on and almost Instant response, ive got to call the dealer tommorrow an add the 5 year warranty.

Even without ADC I usually have to give it the gas to go downhill, unless I'm backing down. I've been on the trails doing a serious hillclimb and find a tree laying down near the top a few times. It's scary when you lock up the brakes and skid down a long steep hill.
