Default close call today

My oldest daughter is 7yrs old. My wife and I flurted with the idea of a little 50cc that even my other
soon to be 4 yr old and 5 yrs old could have FUN with, "when" the time is ripe. But for now we
opted out and think maybe abit older like 10yrs old or more before we go down that path.

For us (and I can only speak for us), its more than the safety, its money, storage, maintenance, appreciation of
etc. etc. I give them little slow rides on flat ground on the fields of Eastern Shore (in-laws) from time to time
and they have alot of fun with that. I'm sure if your daughter loves to Ride then she is hooked and will
be soon back up on that saddle! Glad she is okay!

Peace out,

R'

My daughter is 9 now and is riding her Powermax 150 cc for the second year!!
First two things I taught her were ......The RED stop switch is there if you have ANY trouble with the Quad I told her if the gas lever is not working right push this button ....I got her to do this a few times to let her see that the motor will stop right away for her!!
Second is the helmet done up.......
Last year I needed to do the strap through the buckle and back into the middle ..
Now she can and does it on her own.......
Never seen those quick chin straps....until now...
Thanks...........I just seen and learned something new today.......

So Jayblazer let me say when it comes to our kids/little ones we do try hard to keep them safe and have fun too!!.......Thanks for the links on those Quick straps.......

One think I should also say .........My daughter is only 9 years old and she can back that Quad of hers right into the same spot she took it out of the garage!!!
These really do help them develop riding/driving skills down the road!!

I see LOTS of adults that can't even back up yet!!.........Cars/trucks or Quads!!!

No!!!.......He only let me drive it up the driveway!!!.....LOL...
She does drive my 450 around the yard when I am out there with her doing some yard work........

And I let her put them away in the garage when I'm done......I don't let her back them(450's)up yet though!!...LOL....LOL...
I little too wide for her to see around!!........

As for the Cat .It gets washed after every ride...LOL...I remember when I did that to the 450's ....LOL...LOL......You know what I mean!!!!

Are you still washing that 800 after EVERY ride???.....Caper.........

Jayblazer, Really glad all worked out for your young one there.

On the other part in here as to how riding one of these quads really helps them learn how to drive. I have to agree.
Relate a short story here.
My youngest just started driving this last fall. We had a really snowy and cold winter and I kept taking him out to try to teach him about ice and snow. He just was too umm, fresh behind the wheel to get the picture and he really didn't want to bend his car.

Well I got my 800 and he was using it to do his chores, once done we were playing around in the field. I had put it in 2x4 and had been playing around on it. Then i let him on it. The first time he really grabbed a thumb load well you know how an 800 is. His eyes got about as big as dinner plates. I told him he was fine and to ride it around a bit. Well he was really horsing it up out there, feeling it powerslide, and learning how to control the slides. Didn't really put it together at the time. A few weeks later I rode into work with him and I really saw a marked improvment is his comfort driving on that snow and ice between here and town.

Not sliding, but a lot more smooth negotiating the corners down through the Canyons.. I didn't feel white knuckled at all..

Again, I agree with getting them out when they are young. They learn a lot

Jay so glad all turned out well for your little one.
