I did it. I finally picked up a Pol! Not exactly what I had in mind, but. It's a 99 400 Scram 4X4. This is a baskets ( read plural ) case. Toasted motor. Sucked in a piston skirt. Broke the case.

It needs tires on it just to make it to the woods and back safely. Not to mention before the first weekend up north. Me and bud want to carry a spare tire but the Scram has undersized tires. The bolt patterns are the same, so I at least need a set of front rims, and all new tires. However, I would like to pick up a set of rims and tires someone has taken off for Bigfoot kit or allum rims or whatever. Also looking for an extra front rim/tire for spare. I figure I can make an addaptor to make the front fit the back if needed.
I assume that this will meen that I will have to slightly reclutch to the 400 X-plorer specs. I have a shop manual on order.
Also this machine came with a DG pipe and "silencer". I will use this term LOOSELY! I haven't even heard it run yet and would already like to trade "down" to originall. Anybody looking to "upgrade"?
Lastly - How big a deal is it to put on the speedo - odometer pod on this machine? $?
