Recently my 800 has started to have a backfire problem. It only happenes when i have the rpms over around 5700 for a good couple minutes then let of it backfires a few times. I know this shouldnt be happening . I think it has something to do with air intake it is really due for an oil change and a new air filter do u think the air filter will fix this problem i havent changed it since the day i bought it? {1300 Miles}

 

it sounds like yourloading up the cyclinder w/ gas by having it reved for so long it built up gas then ignited it when you let off. it happens when its running a little rich. imo.
