birddog welcome...
not sure but i think with some 27" tires you might have some troubles with them rubbing the tierod.. unless you go with some aftermarket offset rims or get some spacers...
someone here knows better than me for sure

Thanks for the Welcome and I was just reading up on the 1.5" 4/156 spacers for my machine. I agree, with the rubbing part and that will eliminate that for sure. Also, like that wide look and helps when I go through the mud holes!

If you go to a 9" wide front tire, you will need spacers or offset aftermarket wheels. I added the 1.5" spacers on my wifes to accomodate 27" tires. I know some people here don't like spacers because they make the quad wider, but I prefer it for stability as my wife has been known to roll them. She hasn't rolled this one yet! If you go taller than 27", i"m sure you will need a lift. I like the looks of hers with the bigger tires, but there is a noticeable vibration in the steering and it is harder to steer as opposed to my sp800 with the same tires, but 26". Keep in mind if you go to 27" or taller you should reclutch it to get your performance back.

You could also move the tie rods to a lower position to accomodate the wider tires up front. This has been extensively dicussed on this forum a couple of months ago and is a safe and free fix.....

FireHog, I have the same wheeler as you wife, snd I am going to place 1.5" spacers, you think I have room for 28-8-12 front and 28-10-12's in the rear? Oh ya, if you could post pictures that would be awesome! Thanks

Also, did you notice a big difference in the 1.5" spacers by look and off-roading! Just like to know if they are worth the money.

There is still plenty of clearance on hers with 27's, so I'm sure 28's will fit. The spacers don't affect the power or anything, they just make the quad wider so it won't fit places it used to, like maybe between the wheel wells on your truck if you haul it in the bed. I think it looks pretty cool, though! And is not as tipsy! I have some pics on my camera link....if you want more post your email address and I will send some to ya.

The spacers I got cost $150 and are all aluminum. They bolt to the hub, then the wheel bolts to it. There are some other types out there that I would not recommend, like the stud bolt extensions. I don't think they would withstand much torque.

I would highly recommend re clutching....there is a noticeable power loss. After clutching ($200 parts/ $75 labor), the 700 runs right with my 800! It will pull the wheels off the ground now! I couldn't believe it, but it runs better than stock! Well worth the money!

If I were you, though, with 28x8x12's up front, I would test fit them first because I think they will clear without the spacers. Then, you could put the money towards clutching. Just don't drive it unless it clears or you will tear up your tie rod boots!

I understand about the re-clutching, but is there a big differance in the stance and going thorugh a mud hole, when it come to the spacers. Big Differance in width, or are they paper weights.

I love the 27's you are running, looks awesome and I do off-road hard and 28's seem like they are going to pack up the wheel wells to much and hit. Or do you think there is plenty of room with 9 inch wide up front and 10 inch wide in the rear and 1.5" spacers. Reason I ask is, that the price I have found they are 10 dollars more from 27's to 28's. CRAZY!!!
