Default fuel problem

I have a 2002 sportsmen 500ho after it sits for more then a month in the summer it doesn't get any fuel to the carb. it seems that the fuel evaporates. after I re prime the system it runs fine i already replaced the fuel pump and i'm stumped.

unless it leaking out of the car bowl it shouldnt be gone only after a month. is there a vacume leak somewhere. i take it you just choke it to pulll the fuel back up.

no i have to turn it over with my thumb on the end of the fuel filter till i start to feel fuel or i can use a air compressor by putting a rag and a blow gun into the gas tank

sounds like your fuel pump is the problem for keeping pressure up. check for vacume or an air leak of some kind where it wont hold the pressure up.

The fuel pump on these are vacume operated. Like stendori said, check for vacume leaks. Old, brittle vacume hoses will crack.
