That's what I heard. Someone told me I might want to go drive one before I made up my mind on what to buy. I had a 03 700 sportsman that I was very happy with. I drove a 06 800 and was very impressed with the power. They guy that owned it is the one that told me I should check out the 08. He drove one and said it was a big enough difference that he could feel it.
