I would imagine the 27's would need more horsepower to push them. so a little lower true top is pretty likely.
Did you happen to notice the indicated speed? It should have been lower than the 65.2 by some margin.
Ratio of error would be of course the difference in the circumference of the tires.

why would i want to hold this wot for a mile or 2 to maybe gain 1 to 2 mph. i know the gps is fairly close to being right on the money as i use it every day in my truck.</end quote></div>
Even after the government quit forcing the artificial, built-in, error on us, there is still a margin of error in the GPS. I just wanted a more accurate number if I could get it. I always do a mile or so, then turn around and go the other way, to average out diferences in wind direction. Just like when pros set speed records. But fairly close is good enough.

I use a Garmin 60CSx and I do what jumbofrank does, 1/2 to 1 mile minimum 2x for my figuring on speed - Anyway I was wondering how much of a variance are you noticing from your "dream o' meter" and your GPS? At full throttle I see roughly my speedo reading 7mph more then my GPS says I am actually going and of course at lower speeds its a bit less off

What are you riding? The quads that read off the front wheel are a lot better than the kind that read off the transmision. Mine is always close. Before they turned off Selective Availability in 2000 it didn't work so good. Now it's 100 times better. I'm still not sure the altitude is very accurate but everything else is.
