What should the compression reading be for this model, and can you measure it with the decompression relief on the cam???

I'd have to check at work to verify but I THINK it's like 70lbs compression. If you can get a hold of a cylinder leakage tester use it. Way better check for motors with compression release mechanisms

70 - 90 psi for compression, and i agree on the cylinder leakage tester

I would rather know what the leakage test showed but yes it sounds like overhaul time. I had an old kawi in the shop a week ago and it had 0 compression and 95 percent leakage on the leakage test. It ended up being tight intake valves. Adjusted the cleance and it fired right up. Granted there is damage to the intakes but the cust said leave it. All I'm saying is a compression reading isn't sufficient enough to determine the actual problem.

make sure to fully open throttle,+squirt oil in,if reading goes up rings, if not usually valves, like harley said make sure there is not a valve nonclearance problem.
