Default HPD Carb Mod Kit

I would like to try this kit along with the new HPD exhaust system. In the directions it is recommended that I take the airbox lid off for the carb mod. If I decide to go back to keeping the lid on, is there anything that would cause problems for me such as any mods that are not reversible? You have to drill 2 holes in the botom of the carb slide. Is this a one way trip?

I guess I really just need to know how important it is to drill the holes in the carb slide. If I won't notice a difference, I'd rather not have to make a change that I can't undo if I decide to go back to running the airbox lid. Any thoughts?

I don't like that drilling idea at all.

One more question to add to this thread. Would I have to change the clutching at all between running the airbox lid or not?

My best guess would be no. But look at my avatar. Are you going to take my word for anything?

What is the reason for the holes in the bottom of the carb slide? I assume it has something to do with the vacume pressure to raise the slide differently than stock. Any thoughts?

Why would you want to reverse it? They send you the drill bit and it is a very simple process. If you want it back to stock you could prob just buy a new one. Shouldn't be that much.
