Polaris Trailblazer 250 full of gas in all the wrong places!
#1
I went to start my Polaris trailblazer 250, and it wouldnt start, so I checked for fuel, and the entire airbox was full of gas, and the plug was soaked, so then I saw that the exhaust elbow looked wet, and when I took it off, about a gallon of gas poured out of the exhaust!! I am trying to figure out how this happened, I guess a stuck float? I drained all the fuel out of the airbox and took the carb off and exhaust off and cranked it over without the plug in it until no more gas came out, is there anything else I should check before reassembly? Also, what else could cause this much gas to flood the engine? Finally, is there supposed to be an inline filter on the oil injection line? Thanks!

Well this happened years ago to my wife's Snowmobile........I did rebuid the carb........And started to use the fuel shut-off...
But my issue with all the gas in the motor and exhust didn't help when the snowmobile trailer was tilted downward ...so the tank was alot higher that the motor and exhust sitting on the trailer in the yard between week-end trips.........After that I keep the trailer level...
Was your quad parked on a hill or steep slope so the gas in the tank was easy to drain by gravety into the engine and exhust?(if the float was stuck)
..................Caper.............

Either your float height is off or your inlet needle & seat are worn as stated above. You can probaly get away with just using the fuel shut off when parking it,,, but I'd advise rebuilding/adjusting the carb. It's not really that hard and worth it when you forget to shut the fuel off.

Im going to replace the needle and seat, even though my local dealer wants $27 for it!! Are there any other places that sell these parts? Also, I drained the crankcase as suggested, and about another cup of black watery oily gas dumped out. Then, I craked her over without the carb, and it fired up, revved pretty high (im assuming it was burning off the rest of the gas), and stalled. Now it runs when I squirt gas into the intake every time, so were making progress. The needle and seat must be really bad, because if I hook up the tank, within a few seconds, it starts pouring gas out of the carb. Should I replace the two plastic floats now?

I had a similar problem recently. after chainging the oil, plug and everything that was gasoline contaminated i cranked the beast and sprayed some berryman's carb and choke cleaner in the carb. you know while its running until it almost dies gas it and repeat. i'm sure you know the drill. this fixed my problem. good luck
