Get a new temp sensor or unplug it so the fan will run. Quit overheating your engine before you ruin it!</end quote></div>
Hi,
If I unplug the clip from the sensor, are you sure the fan will run at all while driving? Doesn't the fan need a ground from the sensor clip?

The sensor at the top of the rad controls the fans on off cycles, the senor in the engine only works the temperature light. If you already changed the rad sensor maybe you just bought a bad one and should try again.</end quote></div>
I have not checked the rad sensor! Where exactly is it?
So, the temp sensor on engine block controls temp HOT light and does what to fan?
Rad sensor controls fan cycles on and off??

All I know to tell you is that you can get a temp gauge and a fan switch. One of the guys showed me a website where you can get this stuff. With the temp gauge you can monitor the temp and when things get to hot you can cut the fan on manualy. With the fan switch off it works like normal. I believe jumbofrank showed me the post. I plan to get the mod.</end quote></div>
Quadovator. I would give it a try if I had heat issues. You can manually turn the fan on at any time with this over-ride switch.

I just checked the Polaris 800 schematic and I don't see a switch on the top of the rad...am I missing something??</end quote></div>
Looks like the 800 has a different set up Read through this for some other ideas.

If it runs hot and starts puking out coolant and the fan isn't working then you've found your problem.</end quote></div>
Should I surmise that the temp sensor is causing the fan not to come on until the engine is already too hot?
I am in Arizona and I don't have to tell you how hot it gets here. I think I'll get the aftermarket stuff and install so that the fan can run all the time in summer. Any problem doing that?</end quote></div>
your four wheeler won't run at operating temp, tried it on my dirt bike when i was in phoenix, didn't ever run right and got terrible fuel mileage
