I've been asking about utility quads for the past few days because I'm wanting to get back into the scene after being out of it for around 4 years. A little bit about myself... I used to own a Grizz 660 and loved to trail ride. I ended up trading it in on a YFZ450 (which was a blast.) After owning the YFZ for a couple of months some scum of the earth stole it from me. At the time I didn't have insurance and couldn't afford to buy another.
Ever since I've wanted to get back in but being on a college budget makes it hard to find 5000+ dollars to spend. Well, I've finally got enough together to get back into riding and am really excited.
I was all over the place on what quad to get. First I wanted a Brute, then the can-am outlander caught my eye. I visited a Polaris dealership earlier today and sat on the 800's and really liked them. I remember riding a buddy's and being jealous of his smooth ride and twin engine sound. So... tonight I was on ebay and pulled the trigger on this:
2006 Sportsman 800 EFI Silver LE
900 miles and looks to be in good condition
I got it for 5300 and can't wait for this weekend to pick it up
Check out the auction here that I "won":

Did I do good on the price? Since it is out of state, no taxes

I just can't wait. I live about 1 hour from Land Between the Lakes in Kentucky and have been craving to go back there after 4 years. Plus the silver quad will look nice in the back of my blue truck
I'm thinking Tifton GA (where the quad is at) is around atlanta, so I've got about a 12 hour round trip ahead of me this weekend. Paying for gas will offset the no sales tax... Stupid gas prices.

You will enjoy the Popo mutch better than the Outy you were looking at! The Popo atleast has a better 4x4 system and a solid frame under it and you don't need to worry about it braking on you LOL! Congrats on the new bike!!!

Just don't DO DONUTS!
These wheels like to auto-engage
the AWD when it detects slippage.
May need getting used to compared
to your Yamaha's.
As a 800 owner/rider, I really like mine.
It has all the POWER and SPEED you need
and more. You bought a great quad!
Enjoy your ride!

Congrats on the new quad. You'll love Polaris, I'm sure. I know how bad it sucks to get one stolen. Sorry to hear about that, but I think I have the record. 4 gone in 2 years. I'm still having problems with the insurance company. I have more paperwork to do before they'll pay me. When the first two were stolen they gave me just enough money for both to buy one new one and put my accessories on. They rape you bad, but it's better than no insurance.
