Cool Toys.
Well we have a small farm and raise a few critters on that. I use the ATV's for chores around the farm.
I have been a techie type since I was about 15. I build most of my own computers and do the same for others. I use this avenue to keep up my Computer Knowledge.
I like to see Technology doing more than sitting in the corner. It already is more powerful than the computers used to send a man into space. Why can't we use it to make our life what we want.
Since my occupation is and IT Project Manager I dont' get much direct contact with IT there.
One of my Hobbies is Homebuilt Personal Video Recorders (PVR's) Similar to a TiVo but a lot more capable and only I control who knows what I watch.
Here is a screenshot from my main tv.
The system is linux based built around MythTV using a distribution called Knoppmyth. It is probably the most mature platform out there.
This picture is the Web interface. I can access this from anywhere in my house or even on the road.
Actually anything placed on the machines, is accessible to anyone in my home network.
I like Older movies, ones that had real story lines and a plot. especially SciFi.
With a PVR you can capture say a really cool movie, and in my case I transfer them to SD cards and watch them on my Pocket pc when I travel.
My entertainment on my terms...
And the Pc's that run this and do all the work are recycled 2 Athlon's and one Athlon 64. 2-5 yr old boxes at least.
Another Hobby is using PC's for full home control, Lights, Fans, eventually heat, etc. It is really just growing and soon you can have a pc make decisions on when the dishwasher should run based on Electric and Water rates.
Regards</end quote></div>

My newest beast.
it is a 600 micro sprint.
Kawi 636 4 cylinder street bike engine duel electric injection only weighs 775 with me in it. around 140hp at the rear wheels.
the hit around 111mph on some of the big dirt tracks most of the tracks are about 1/5 of a mile nice having electric start and fuel injection. just get in plip the switches and hit the button. it has a shifter to my right just forward and back with forward upshifting with nutral in the middle of first and second just like a bike. and the clutch is on the handle just like the bar of the bike. its crazy.
heres a link to a on board vid along with music pics and a vid from the stands.

Sprinter,
Keep practicing on the soldering, it is really no different than welding, brazing. It is fusing metals at that exact point using heat transfer.
When you have a decent Soldering Iron with enough Thermal mass the contact point to be joined heats quickly and then you apply the Slobber. usually to the opposite side from the Heat source. Solder flows towards the heat.
Keep it up.
