1 Polaris and 5 Hondas in Moab (w/pictures)

Had a great trip to Moab last week and got to ride several trails. A few guys backed out and I ended up being the only Polaris with a bunch of my buddies that are die-hard Honda guys.
The pictures never do it justice, but it is amazing what these things can do on the rocks. The short wheelbase makes many of the obstacles really challenging. We "rope up" on several spots just in case someone starts to tip over we can pull them back.
P.S. I ended up working on 3 of the 5 Honda's this year. 1: Crud in the carb on the Rincon had to be serviced on the trail. 2: Rear diff squealing on the Foreman needed service. 3: Another Foreman rolled and kept shorting out elaborate electrical system until short was found after many fuses.

3 were Foremans with the Solid Axle. They probably struggle the most by getting bounced around, hence the rollover of one of them. The 2 Rincons with the IRS do pretty well. Not nearly as much suspension travel though as the Polaris which I believe is due to the double-wishbone design restricting the articulation. The Honda's just seem to have one or two wheels in the air a lot of the time which isn't good.
Overall though, they make it up and down everything I can do in my Polaris. It's really much more about traction, gearing and some skill.
The thing I dislike the most about the Honda's is the constant stopping and shifting in and out of 4WD. It seems like they end up trying every single obstacle in 2WD first, failing and then going into 4WD. I tend to set it and forget it.

I've told you stendori, we don't know what mud is out here! Oh we may find a couple of inches of wet dirt to go through.....just enough to spray our quads with, but no quad swallowing gunk like you folks ride in. I'm scared of going anywhere east of Utah because of the photos you guys post!

AWESOME pics!
I live in West Jordan, Utah and just got our ATV's a few weeks ago...I would love to make the trip to MOAB to ride!
If you have any other idea's of where to ride around here, that would be great!
We have been to 5 Mile Pass, and plan to go out by Vernon and up American Fork Canyon by Tibble Fork res. and up to Silver Lake Flats.
Again, GREAT PICS, looks like a BLAST!
